Channel fish fishing
The fishing technique used to catch tomcod is very simple. A perfect activity to do with children. To ensure a successful catch, simply put a small piece of bait on each hook, and lower the sinkers to within a half inch of the bottom (about 1cm). A slight movement of the line will alert you to the presence of a fish. Give it a little tug up and reel it in, voila!
No fishing permit is required to fish for small channel fish in Ste-Anne-de-la-Pérade. Moreover, no quota (catch limit) applies. Consumable fish left on site will be recovered by your outfitter and sent to the Moisson Mauricie food bank.
