The Tom Cod
The fishing technique used to catch the Tom Cod is very simple, making it a perfect activity to do with children. To ensure a successful catch, simply place a small piece of bait on each hook and lower the lines about half an inch off the bottom (approximately 1cm). A slight movement of the line will alert you of a fish’s presence. Give it a little tug upwards and reel in the line, and there you go!
No fishing permit is required for Tom Cod fishing in Ste-Anne-de-la-Pérade. Additionally, there are no catch limits. Edible fish left on the site will be collected by your outfitter and delivered to the Moisson Mauricie food bank.
